Christmas Cactus is a beautiful houseplant that produces an abundance of vibrant, long-lasting blooms during the holiday season. Succulent leaves grow out from each other to create stems and branches. Our plants are carefully hand-picked and selected to ensure the highest quality. For safety reasons, the plant is shipped bare root.

To ensure your Christmas cactus thrives, it should be placed in indirect light and in a humid environment. It is best to grow it in a north- or east-facing window, but regardless of its placement, be sure to keep it away from direct sunlight.

Unlike most succulents, Christmas cactus plants prefer soil that is consistently moist. Watering should occur when the top inch or two of soil becomes dry. In order to produce the beautiful blooms that are characteristic of Christmas cacti, regular and nutritious meals are needed from the end of blooming season through the fall to build up energy for the next flowering cycle. Propagating a Christmas cactus is relatively simple, as cuttings of one to four segments can be taken and left in a cool, dry area for a few days before planting them an inch deep in new soil. It is best to use a sand/peat mix, and water sparingly until roots or new growth emerges, after which normal watering can resume.
